I spoke with my contact at Reese regarding the 5th Wheel Lube Plate # RP83001 that you referenced and she said that they don't have a general lifespan of the lube plates because it's really going to depend on how often you are towing, the weight of the trailer, etc. She did say though that even when towing often a lube plate should last a really long time and she has yet to receive any kind of warranty claim on one of them.

Making sure to keep the hitch head clear of any debris will help to prolong its lifespan. You will want to replace the plate for any obvious physical damage or when it's down to half of its original thickness (which is 0.192" for the Reese unit).
