Mud Flaps to Protect Towed 2018 Chevrolet Colorado

Question:

can this be used on a 2018 chevy Colorado with blue ox aventa tow bar. I am not sure owners manual has the following warming . CAUTION Use of a shield mounted in front of the vehicle grille could restrict airflow and cause damage to the transmission. The repairs would not be covered by the vehicle warranty. If using a shield, only use one that attaches to the towing vehicle.

The Blue Ox KarGard Towed Vehicle Protector # BX8870 is compatible with their Aventa tow bar but I would take GM's warning to heart and use another solution to protect the truck from road debris, one that won't put the transmission at risk.

Your tow bar can be equipped with Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty Adjustable Mud Flap System # ERT00108. This setup lets you customize the mud flaps to precisely fit the motorhome. The flaps can be trimmed to size if you like and their vertical height is adjustable. The steel collar attaches to your tow bar shank. You just need to make sure you have at least 1-inch of space for the collar to mount, as shown in the linked image.
