Can an RV Slide Topper Fit Under Awning

Question:

I have an existing 18foot RV awning installed on the side of my fifth wheel that covers one of my slideouts when the awning is extended. However, when we have to retract the awning due to a storm the slideout is not protected from the rain. It hasnt been an issue for the past 5 years, but after having recently put on a new roof on the rig, I was asked why that slideout did not have a topper. The question is can I add a topper to that slideout underneath the existing awning, assuming I will need to install a separate track to attach the topper to?

It's not uncommon to have a slide topper installed below the awning of the RV if the awning happens to be over the slide out. As long as you have room for a rail to fit under the main awning rail this would be totally fine. To pick out the correct slide topper you need to measure the width of your slideout including the flange that goes around the outside of the slide out. If that dimension is between 80 and 85-3/4 inches the Solera 7.5' Slider (Slide-Topper) # LCV000163287 that you referenced would be the correct size. This also comes with the needed awning rail to install. I attached an install video for this kit for you to check out as well.
