Can Outer Tray be Removed on Saris superclamp EX When Carrying 1 Bike

Can we use Just one Rail with 1 bikes when not needed the all four with the Saris superclamp EX 4 bikes?

You could potentially remove the outermost tray when only carrying one bike rack with the Saris SuperClamp EX # SA4026F but the problem with that is that you will have the rest of that main base shaft will be sticking out and could be dangerous for someone behind you. If you were to go this route I highly recommend using a safety flag like part # EM05303 to let people know where that end is at.

The best solution is to keep the rearmost tray installed no matter how many bikes you plan on carrying. This helps to make sure that the hardware doesn't become worn from constant install and removal plus it lessens the chance that parts are misplaced.
