Choosing Between Convert-A-Ball and Reese High-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Adapters

Question:

I guess I know your answer to,this but will ask anyway. I have a 11,500 lbs. / 15,000 lbs. fifth wheel trailer and a GMC duramax dually with 8foot bed. It has a Reese hide a goose hitch in it. At this wpoint I dont know if Ill ever need a gooseneck setup ... but maybe - who knows. So at this point I would say a 5th wheel maybe all Ill ever tow. Can I go with a goose neck adapter or does the smart money buy the Drawtite hi rise conversion hitch 9480? I want the best towing for my money. Thanks

If you were only planning on towing a fifth wheel trailer occasionally, but towing a gooseneck the majority of the time, going with the Convert-A-Ball Gooseneck adapter you referenced, part # CAB-C5G would be your best choice. Since you are planning on towing a fifth wheel trailer the vast majority of the time (maybe exclusively) the Hi-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Adapter would be the safer and easier to use alternative.
