How Does Door Switch for Replacement Control Module LC301702 Wire and Function
Question:
I replaced my control module 301702 which has restored part of the operation. The wiring diagram shows the brown wire going to the door switch, when I open the door the brown wire stays grounded. I think when I open the door the ground circuit would be broken. When I test using a jumper wire for ground instead of the door switch I can make the step work as it should. It seems the door switch breaks the ground, is that the case? Thanks

Yes you are correct. The brown wire of the attached diagram is a "ground" activated circuit. So when the door is closed the switch allows the ground to complete and the step is activated. Then when it's open and the ground is broken the switch loses the ground which tells the step to activate in reverse.
