Recommended Baseplate Adapter for 2017 Jeep Wrangler with Aftermarket Bumper
Question:
I have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler with and ARB Deluxe front bumper. I would like to setup the Jeep to be towed by an RV. What baseplate should I install? Im considering using a Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar.

For your 2017 Jeep Wrangler the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain w/ LED Lights - 8K # RM-676 is an excellent choice. It comes with the safety cables and wiring needed to connect to your Jeep. For your baseplates I recommend the Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Motor Home Mount Tow Bars - 3/4" Thick # RM-035 which will fit 7/8 inch or 1 inch D-ring holes. These adapters will serve as your baseplates and connect your tow bar directly to your bumper.
Then for the wiring on your Jeep to the front 6-way connector, I recommend the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56200 and then the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25. I've attached videos to assist.
Then for your braking I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 which once installed literally requires a flip of a switch to be ready to tow. The # RM-88400 relay is required to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn, so you will need that as well.
Finally, you will need a high-low adapter and I've linked the page to your options as well as an article to help with the height measurement for safe towing.
