The item you selected, Reese Universal Installation Kit, part # RP30035, will work with the Curt 25K Gooseneck Plate, part # 16055. This combination will allow you to tow a gooseneck trailer as long as you have clearance with your 2004 Chevrolet K1500 w/ 6-1/2 foot bed.
However, instead of using the Reese Universal Installation Kit # RP30035, I would recommend using the Reese Custom Installation Kit, part # RP50064-58, which will require less drilling and reduce installation time tremendously.
The hitch ball on the gooseneck plate is offset from the center of the plate. If you install the plate on your rails with the hitch ball towards the rear of your truck the measurement from the center of the hole in your rear rail to the center of your hitch ball will be 9 inches, which will give you a bit more clearance.
If you reverse the plate and have the hitch ball closer to the cab of your truck the distance from the center of the hole in your rear rail to the center of your hitch ball will be 13 inches
Keep in mind that the towing capacity will be limited to the installation kit you use, even though the Gooseneck Plate is rated for 25,000 lbs. You will want to check the towing capacity of your truck as stated in the vehicle owners manual as it should not be exceeded also.
