Winch Recommendation to Use as Hoist for Lifting Sign into Air
Question:
What would you suggest as the best solution for this application? I would like to hoist a 60 lb wooden sign overhead in a lobby where people will be present.

The only style of winch we offer that can be used to hoist something safely into the air is a worm gear winch like the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch - Worm Gear - Loop Drive - Ceiling Mount # DL10954 that was actually designed to mount on the ceiling and hoist something into the air like you mentioned wanting to do. I attached a picture of two of these mounted on a ceiling for you to check out as well.
For a cable then you'd want the part # DL24104.
