Generator Recommendation with High Running Wattage and 50 Amp Socket

Question:

The igen4500 puts out 3700 running watts but the 30 amp 3600 watt plug on it will only pass 80 percent of the 3600 watts or about 2900 watts on a continuous basis otherwise it will overheat and trip the breaker. This means the plug is not matched to the 3700 watts of the generator. The generator can output 3700 watts continuously but you can only draw 2900 watts continuously from the 30 amp plug. This mean the extra 800 watts the generator produces cannot be accessed on a continuous basis at a single socket. Question: Why didn’t you put in a 50 amp plug to let users draw upon the full 3700 watts?

We do not carry the Igen4500 inverter/generator nor did we have any input on it's design so we really can't comment on how or why it was designed. We do have a great generator setup that has a 50 amp socket and a 30 amp socket like you are needing. The etrailer 6,000-Watt Portable Inverter Generators - 5,500 Running Watts # 333-0003-2-0007 has 5,500 watts running power output and a 50 amp socket so it would easily work well for you!
