Would I be able to use this on a diesel fuel tank?

Yes, you could use the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad w/ Thermostat # 277-000163 that you referenced with a diesel fuel tank. This pad turns on when it's below 45 degrees and then off when 67 which would be ideal for diesel fuel.
