Troubleshooting Service Trailer Brakes Message on 2009 Silverado After Installing Brake Controller

Do you know of a way after installing the new controller to get the message center to stop saying to service trailer brake sysytem

It sounds like your 2009 Chevy Silverado 3500 was equipped with a factory integrated brake controller. We do have a great help article that details how to install an aftermarket unit like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 you referenced in order to avoid the error message, but if you have already installed the controller and are getting the dash message your best bet will be to take your truck up to a local Chevy dealer. They should be able to clear the message or flash the truck's computer so that it recognizes the Prodigy P3.
