The Atwood RV Water Heater G6A-8E that you currently have has a 6 gallon capacity and operates on gas only. If you wish to switch to a water heater with a 6 gallon capacity that operates on both gas and electric then you would need to use the Atwood RV Water Heater part # AT96117 for a manual pilot or part # AT96163 for an automatic pilot.

The main task you will be faced with when upgrading from gas to gas and electric is running the 110 VAC power supply wire from the water heater to the distribution panel. The wall switch to operate the unit is included and runs on 12 VDC but the 110 VAC power wire and breaker will need to be obtained from a local hardware store.

The installation instructions for wiring will be included with the kit for you.
