Pace Edwards Tonneau Cover Recommendation for 2019 Ford F-350 Short Bed Towing 5th Wheel

Question:

Can you use the various Pace Edwards Tonneau Covers with a standard fifth wheel hitch? I know if the hitch is low enough, it will work. My concern is the 10inch to 13inch that the roll up assembly intrudes on the bed of the truck, and if the trailer kingpin hitch will hit it during towing or turning. My truck is a 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty with a 6-9inch Bed. I also have the Demco Puck System Adapter with a Husky 26000 lb. Slide Hitch. Model #31690KIT

A fifth wheel hitch could fit under a Pace Edwards Switchblade tonneau like the part # 311-SWFA18A44 that you referenced but like you said it would have to be adjusted low enough to allow that. Your other concern about the front of the tonneau be raised would be an issue if your trailer overhang was pretty close to the bed rails of the truck. You have to have at least 6 inches between the bedrails and the trailer overhang to not have interference.

So if that dimension is tight on your setup currently you'd instead want the Pace Edwards BedLocker part # 311-BLFA18A44 as it does not have the front of the cover raised. I attached a picture of what it looks like near the cab to show you how low it sits. I also attached an install video for more info as well. This is a powered retractable cover. For a similar one that's a manual retract we have the JackRabbit part # 311-JRFA18A44 as well.
