Installation Time of Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75758 on 2018 Ford Escape
Question:
Hello. I am considering a self-install option as well for this receiver hitch and wondering if the 30 minute installation time is valid for a first-time hitch installer. Also, I am wondering if this hitch will be compatible with Item # HR1450Z-FB? Thank you!

The Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75758 referenced in your question is going to just line up to existing holes in the frame of your Ford Escape and mount using the included bolts and washers. The only step that may take a little longer is enlarging some of those existing holes with a file and wrench and this may not even need to be done.
As a first time installer you might allow yourself a bit more than 30 minutes but this is still a pretty good estimate even for someone without much experience. Just as a reference Draw-Tite actually lists an estimated install time of just 15 minutes.
I have attached an installation video that you can follow along with.
This particular hitch will work perfectly with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z-FB. When we installed this hitch on the 2018 Ford Escape there was a distance of 4 inches from the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the rear bumper. On the Sport Rider there is a distance of 5 inches from the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the rack when it's folded up for storage.
This simply means there will be no interference with the bumper on your Escape and the bike rack when it's installed, regardless of whether you have it folded up for storage or laid down flat for use. The Draw-Tite hitch also has the needed 2 inch receiver for use with the rack and more than enough capacity to safely support its loaded weight.
