Will CTEK Battery Charger Analyze Battery Its Connected to Without Being Plugged in
Question:
I have my CTEK charger permanently installed and I noticed that the mode button ions are illuminated even though the charger is not plugged into AC. I take it that it is receiving power from the battery. Will this draw power from the battery or should I disconnect the comfort connection until I need to charge the battery?

You'd want to have the quick disconnect clip disconnected between the charger and the terminals on the charger if it's not in use. The CTEK chargers aren't designed to be left totally installed on a battery without being plugged in. Essentially the charger is analyzing the battery and while not drawing a considerable amount from the battery it is draining it very slightly. Instead of leaving the whole thing installed instead just leave the terminal connectors installed and remove the charger by the quick disconnect clip.
