Parts Needed to Install Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller in 2005 Toyota Tundra and 2008 Toyota Sequoia  

Question:

I would like to be able to transfer this unit back and forth between the two vehicles in the subject line. The Tundra came from the factory with a tow package. The Sequoia did not. The Sequoia has an aftermarket tranny cooler, receiver and a four pin connector at the back which was installed by the previous owner. What else do I need to be able to accomplish this? Thank you

First thing you'll need is a second mounting bracket for the P2 part # 90885. For that you'll want the part # 7686 which is designed for easy removal of the controller as needed. To install this controller in the 2005 Toyota Tundra requires just the install harness part # 3040-P.

From the 4-way you have in your 2008 Sequoia you would need to convert it to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. This adapts the 4-way to a 7-way and comes with everything needed to also install the brake controller.

When it comes time to switch the controller from one vehicle to other all you have to do is unplug the harness at the back of the controller and slide it out of the mounting pocket.
