For your 2018 Chevy Equinox the stop light you will tap into the purple/white wire that is connected to the body control module. This is the cold side of the switch you need for your brake controller's red wire. This is the wire used for the center high mounted stop lamp and what the manufacturer recommends tapping into for connecting your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195.
