Question:
Hello! I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty and I am towing a small camper this summer. I was wondering what the best sway control option is and which brake control option is the best? Thank you,

The best sway control device we have for your 2012 Jeep Liberty will be in the form of a weight distribution system. For this, I recommend using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System. The Fastway e2 is the best weight distribution system on the market for the money. It has two-point sway control, easy to use snap-up levers, and it doesn't require any drilling into the frame for installation.
It also has the option to come equipped with trunnion spring bars which will be needed so you don't lose too much ground clearance with your Jeep. The correct system for you should be part # FA92-00-0600 which has a total tongue weight range of 250 lbs - 600 lbs. I was able to determine this based on the towing capacity of your vehicle. However, just to be sure you will want to add the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of the trailer by the weight of any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. As long as the total tongue weight of your towing setup does not exceed 600 lbs (which it should not) you will be good to go with the above.
For a brake controller, I really like the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180. The Echo is a relatively new brake controller that is gaining a lot of popularity. The reason for this is because it does not require any modifications to the tow vehicle, it just plus into the 7-way and you use your phone to customize settings and activate the manual override. The other major reason as to the growing popularity of this brake controller is because it uses a device you are already comfortable using (your phone), you do not need to read an entire comprehensive manual and familiarize yourself with the controls and codes to use it. Please note that if your phone loses power the brake controller will still function as normal.
I have attached a review video of the weight distribution system and brake controller for you.
