Magnaflow Muffler Recommendation for 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 408 Stroker and Headers

Question:

We have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 limited. Engine is built to 408 stroker,,550 hp. Doug thorley headers which have the y pipe,,,which magnaflow muffler do you suggest? Performance is a big deal,,but dont want can done noise. Want a one in,,2 out performance muffler. Area help would be appreciated. Thanks

So a straight through muffler will be your best option since you want as much performance as possible. The great thing about Magnaflow mufflers is they are a bit quieter and less likely to drone than other brands. I looked up your headers and the collectors are 2-1/2 inch diameter and the Y-pipe outlet is 3 inch. That means the Magnaflow muffler part # MF12198 would fit what you are looking for well. The inlet side is 3 inch like you need and the outlet is 2 -1/2 inch so back pressure would be minimal. This will give you solid performance, will still sound good without being too loud, and will fit and last a long time.
