Troubleshooting 3rd Brake Light on 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Duramax
Question:
On my 2011 duramax Im not getting power to the 3rd brake light assembly. Any ideas?

A 3rd brake light, or CHMSL (center high mount stop light), like the one on your 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Duramax, is typically fused separately from the other lights. Check the lid on the power box for a legend that tells you the location number of the CHMSL fuse. Check this fuse then replace as needed and try again.
You can also check the orange wire under the dash. If this 3rd brake light wire is rubbing on metal it would cause a short and blow the fuse and prevent operation of the light even if the bulb is good.
