Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2014 Ram 1500 6-1/2 foot Bed

Question:

I have a 2004 keystone Laredo 8 foot wide and a 2014 ram 1500 6 foot bed what kind of fifth wheel hitch do I need I have a stationary hitch from a previous truck that had a 8 foot bed Thanks in advance

Since your trailer is 8 feet wide and you have a short bed truck you will have to use a slider hitch to allow you to make tight turns without cab interference. For that you'd want the Reese slider hitch part # RP30051. This hitch comes with a 360 degree jaw design which will minimize noise while towing. You'll need a fifth wheel rail kit to install in the bed of your 2014 Ram 1500. For that a custom rail kit like the part # RP50142-58 is the way to go as custom install kits minimize drilling and install time when compared to universal kits.
