Recommended E-Z Flex Suspension System to Replace EQ310 Equalizers

Question:

Hello, I have a tandem axle enclosed trailer that has 35” axle spacing from center to center. It currently has EQ 310 equalizers installed on it. Will the Dexter k71-653-00 work for my application? I noticed that the current equalizer is around 4” from the top hole to the center of the lower holes and the dexter is 2-7/8”. Thanks

The equalizers included with the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-653-00 that you referenced measure between 7-1/4 inches and 8-1/4 inches with deflection, from the center of one eye hole to the center of the other. Your existing EQ 310 equalizers, which is our part # TREQ310, features an eye hole length of 6-1/16 inches. This difference along with its taller profile that you mentioned doesn't make the E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-653-00 your best option for a replacement.

A better solution will be with the Dexter E-Z Flex Kit # K71-652-00. These equalizers match the length of your current equalizers with their range of 5-1/4 inches to 6-1/4 inches. They can be used on tandem axles that are rated up to 6,000 pounds. As long as the equalizer measurements match up to what you currently have, the slight difference in axle spacing is not a problem.

With either option the upgrade will likely lower your trailer by just about an inch because of their shorter dimension. I have attached an installation video on this kit that you can check out as well.
