Why Would Turning On Headlights Activate Rear Camera and Override Side Blinker Camera on RV

Question:

I have a 2016 Monaco Trek, rear and side camera feed to Jenson dash unit radios, cameras, etc. Turn signals side cameras. System works great except, when I turn on headlights, default view is right side camera. If I turn on left turn signal, then rear camera is on. Somehow turning on headlights changes the camera selection. Any thoughts on this very strange behavior?

Your backup camera setup is wired currently to show the rear camera angle whenever the running lights/headlights are turned on. This is a pretty common way to trigger a backup camera. Since this trigger overrides the turn signal triggers the easiest solution will be to switch the rear view camera to a reverse light circuit instead. This will prevent the rear camera from showing when you turn the headlights on. You might go through the manual of your camera setup to see if there is a way to prioritize the trigger views if you wanted to keep the activation circuit for the rear as the headlights.
