What is the Correct Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for a 2012 Thor ACE

Question:

I want to install a new rear sway bar on my 2012 Thor ACE, which is built on the v10 Ford F53 chassis. I’m interested in the Roadmaster, but there seems to be conflicting information online about which part number will fit. Can you help?

The reason I believe you are finding conflicting information as to what is the correct Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for your 2012 Thor ACE is because there are two different options, one with a 1-1/2" diameter bar and one with a 1-5/8" diameter bar. The correct diameter bar to use will be based on the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of your motorcoach. I looked up the GVWR of your Thor ACE online and they all have a GVWR of 16,000 lbs therefore the correct rear anti-sway bar for you is part # RM-1139-146 which is 1-1/2" diameter.

I have attached an install video of this very same anti-sway bar on a similar 2018 Thor ACE if you still have doubts. The rear sway bar above is going to be the first thing you will want to upgrade on your ACE in order to improve handling. The next component is a steering stabilizer and for that you will want to use the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer part # RM-RBK22-RSSA. The combination of the anti-sway bar and this steering stabilizer are going to make a night and day difference in how your motorcoach handles. There is also an install video of this product on the same Thor ACE which we installed the rear anti-sway bar on.
