Will the Thule Spare Me 2 Work With an Aftermarket Spare Tire Carrier on a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
Question:
Will it work with something like the Smittybilt XRC Gen2 Rear Bumper or the Rampage Products Rear Recovery Bumper on a 2013 Rubicon Wrangler with 285/70/17 tires. These bumpers unload the heavy tires from the back gate, and they look cool while adding functionality. I have yet to order the bumper but it is on my wish list. I need a bike carrier sooner so it must work with both. I dont really want a receiver hitch mount as I wont be able to tow and haul a bike simultaneously unless I put a receiver on the back of the trailer which is just silly as it has rear barn doors. Thanks! I will hold off on my order until I hear from you guys.

The Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack part # TH963PRO should work with either the Smittybilt XRC Gen2 Rear Bumper or the Rampage Products Rear Recovery Bumper on your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. We have not tested the Spare Me 2 with either of the above bumpers but they would have to have the same bolt pattern for the spare tire mount in order to allow for the same bolt pattern that your Jeep's wheels use therefore I do not believe there would be any issues.
Please note that the spare tire on your Jeep cannot exceed 12.5" wide x 33" diameter if you were to use the Spare Me 2. This will not be an issue if you have the factory tire size on your Jeep but is something you will need to be aware of if you were to upgrade to a larger size. The Spare Me 2 is made in the USA and has a lifetime warranty. It can hold bikes up to 45 lbs and it also comes with locks for security.
I have attached a review video for you.
