Could Roof Mounted Cargo Box Hang Over Outside of Roof Line
Question:
Would it be a disaster if the cargo box stuck out from the side of the roof? We are converting a van into a camper, and have 2 rooftop fans that are making it difficult to fit a cargo box. Basically, the skinniest box I can find would still be about 5 inches wider than the roof. Would that be terrible? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
As long as the box is narrower than the side mirrors you'll be fine. Most drivers are aware of the width of their vehicle using their side mirrors as a gauge for that. If your boxes are narrower than that you'd most likely never run into an issue.
