How to Determine if Timbren Axle Less Suspension Kit Will Clear Bottom of Deck Trailer

Question:

Aluminum, Tilt / flatbed snowmobile trailer currently has a torsion axle which has failed due to rust. Would like to replace the axle with a Timbren. The 8 inch 205/60 tires are under-deck. Question: will there be enough clearance under the deck for the suspension to expand and compress without the tires hitting the underside of the deck? Are there specs for Timbren as far as spindle distance below mounting plate, travel compression distance, etc. Thank you.

I attached two pictures to this page that have dimensions that you can use to determine if the Timbren Axle Less Kit part # A20RS545 will be able to fit and clear the deck. When this kit is installed on a trailer the wheel center will be 2-5/8 inches from the bottom of the trailer's frame when the suspension is uncompressed and then when fully compressed the wheel center will be exactly even with the bottom of the trailer frame.

What you'll need to do is measure from the bottom of your trailer frame to the bottom of your trailer deck. You will then need to compare that do the distance from the center of your trailer wheel to the top of the tire. The difference between those two dimensions is how much clearance you'd have with this kit.
