What is Needed To Tow Both 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailers with a 2018 Ford F-150

Question:

I just installed the air lift system 59570 on my truck. Was thinking of adding a fifth wheel hitch for an rv but would also like to have a gooseneck ball for the small horse trailer. What is my best options? Looks like the hitch bolts in the same place as my air bags not sure I can have both.

I have the perfect setup for you to tow both 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers with your 2018 Ford F-150. For this, you are going to want to use the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # BW77FR with the B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3400. This combo will not require any drilling into the frame of your truck and with the 5th wheel hitch removed will offer full unimpeded truck bed access. The B&W Companion is considered by most to be the best hitch on the market. It has 1" thick dual locking jaws which do a phenomenal job of decreasing chucking/jarring as well as an easy two pin head removal system which allows for one person to remove and install the hitch. They are also both made in the USA and come with a lifetime warranty.

In regards to the Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs part # AL59570 they will unfortunately need to be removed. The reason for this is because they install in the same location that a 5th wheel and or gooseneck hitch will. I honestly do not know of a single 5th wheel hitch or gooseneck hitch that will work with these airbags due to how they mount. I do however have an airbag kit that will work with the above combo and for that you will want to use the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57385 for 4WD or part # AL57268 for 2WD. These kits both install under the frame rail so there won't be any issues with frame brackets for a 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch. They are also rated much higher at 5,000 lbs. The 2,000 lb rating you have now in the Ride Control bags would be very much underrated for 5th wheel or gooseneck towing.

The only other item I recommend for you to complete you 5th wheel/gooseneck towing setup is an in-bed wiring harness that will allow you to attach your trailers lighting system without routing them to the bumper and for that I recommend the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness part # 50-97-410-010 because it is made for aluminum bed trucks like your F-150.

I have attached review/install videos for you as well.
