There are a few differences between the Swagman Platform Style Bike Racks, # S64FR and # S64665. First, the Quad, # S64FR, uses wheel cradles instead of wheel loops. It comes with a different push-button sort of ratcheting frame hook. Instead of using pins to allow the arms to fold down, it has a small lever you push so it is easier to operate. Both racks come with a cable lock.

It is quite a bit heavier than the XTC4 # S64665. The Quad weighs over 80 pounds and the XTC4 weighs about 65 pounds. It would easier to load the XTC4 in a hitch. The arms on the XTC4 use pins to allow the arms to fold but they can fold down to the left or right. The arms on the Quad only fold towards the driver side of the vehicle.

The Quad has a ratcheting type of wheel strap while the XTC4 uses a rubber strap. The ratcheting style of strap is easier to operate but both are secure. The Quad offers more clearance between the hitch pin hole center and the nearest wheel loop (17-1/4 inches). The Quad also has a lower bike loading height than the XTC4.

The XTC4 is a good bike rack, one of our most popular and best selling platform racks. The Quad is the next step up from it and has a lot of features that make it easier to use. If it were me, I would still go with the XTC4 because it is a good rack and more cost effective.
