Question:

I can only get my smart Jack to lower my camper. but I cannot get it to raise my camper so that I can hitch up my truck. There are times it wont work either way. This is a brand new Jack. This is very frustrating. Im trying to find troubleshooting to see if theres maybe something I can do

I spoke with my contact at Lippert Components and they have not yet heard of the issue you are having with the Lippert Smart Jack Electric Trailer Jack part # LC643589. However, the first thing you are going to want to do is test for power at the red wire just before it enters the jack. There should be 12 volts here but if there is not then you will need to check your battery to make sure it is fully charged. I would also make sure you have a suitable bare, clean metal ground. Please also note that this jack has a maximum lifting capacity of 3,500 lbs.

Once you have checked the power/ground of the jack and the weight of your trailer, the last thing you can do is use the manual crank handle to raise and lower the jack. If you get any resistance when raising the trailer then the threaded rod may be damaged.

If any of the internal components of the jack are damaged then the entire unit will need to be replaced as we do not offer any replacement parts for this jack. It has a one year warranty so if you just purchased the jack you should be covered.
