How to Wire Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller to Factory Wiring of 2018 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

I have a 2018 4runner TRD Off-Road Premium and it came with the factory trailer brake jumper harness photo is attached. This harness has a green wire for headlamp switch to vehicle tail lamps, which makes a total of 5 wires. The Redarc controller only has 4 wires to connect up to. I know the Redarc controller is compatible with the 4runner as I have seen lots of people on this site using it. Please help.

Basically you'll use all of the wires in the diagram you sent a picture in of except the green. That circuit is an illumination circuit that would not be used. It's normally for controllers that have a backlit display that comes on when the headlights are on.

The black wire of the harness runs to the black wire of the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR, the green-yellow runs to the red wire of the controller, white-black of harness runs to white of controller, and yellow runs to blue.
