Can Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack be Used on Vehicle without Spoiler

Question:

I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander which looks as though it needs the Hollywood Over the Top rack 3 bike due to the spoiler. My question is whether a spoiler-friendly rack will also work on an SUV 2017 Honda CRV that does NOT have a spoiler? Thanks for all the great info on your website.

The Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack # HRF2-3 is indeed what I recommend for your 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander but it will absolutely also fit your 2017 Honda CR-V that doesn't feature a spoiler. In fact this particular rack is confirmed to fit the CR-V and it will work great because the rack's high-rise frame and multiple strap mounting options also make it an ideal carrier for vehicles with a rear hatch door even if they don't have a spoiler. This is a great option to transport your bikes with both of your vehicles.

It can handle 3 bikes that are up to 35 pounds each. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well. It is always a good idea to add locks as well to secure your investments. For a cable lock to secure the bikes to the rack I like the etrailer.com # e98891 and for a security strap that will lock the rack to your vehicle you can use the Thule # TH533.

One thing you may need to add if you plan on transporting any children's, women's, or alternative frame bikes is an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for level transport and improved ground clearance.
