What is the Difference Between Trailer and Passenger Vehicle Radial Tires
Question:
what is the difference between a trailer radial and a regular radial that you would put on your truck
asked by: Dan S
Expert Reply:
The difference between trailer and passenger vehicle tires is that trailer tires, like the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10303, have a stiffer sidewall which helps them to accommodate the heavy trailer loads. Passenger vehicle tires have more flex in the sidewall to help give you a smoother ride. Since there shouldn't be passengers in a trailer while it is being towed the trailer tires don't need to have sidewalls that flex.
