In order to test the motor on what I assume are set of Lippert Kwikee Electric Steps, you will first want to sever the yellow and red wires on the motor. Once you do this you will then need to obtain access to a 12 volt power source you know functions. If you take the red wire and place it on the direct 12 volt power source while grounding the yellow wire, the step should then either extend or retract. If you switch the wire leads, yellow to power and red to ground then the step will go the opposite way.

In order to test the control module you will first need to obtain the Lippert Components Kwikee Step Tester part # LC379416. Once you have this then you can use the attached photos to test the control module. If you do need a replacement motor or step control module then please give me the series and part number of the steps you have now and I can provide them if available.
