Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 6.0L
Question:
I have a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500hd 6.0L gas and tow a 9,000Lb bumper pull up some steep grades here in the Eastern Sierra. My trans usually runs around 160-180° but going up the grades it jumps to 215°. I have the factory cooler on it and want to upgrade. What transmission cooler would you recommend? Thank you.

For your 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 with 6.0L I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV - Efficient # D13504 along with the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035. This cooler will work well for you and keep your temps stay cooler even in the Eastern Sierra.
If you want even more cooling, you may consider the Derale Dyno-Cool Remote Cooler with Fan and Hose Barb Inlets - Class IV # D12743 which has the integrated fan to increase the cooling power.
You won't replace the factory cooler but rather put the additional cooler in line with it.
