What is the Purpose of the Black Wire Between the 7-Way and Battery
Question:
Wiring diagram has a 40a cb in upper left of diagram going to trailer connector. What is the purpose of this power supply and what pin does it connect to on the trailer connector? The text does not mention it.

The 40 amp circuit breaker part # PK54540 gets installed on the 12 volt power wire between the 7-way trailer connector and the vehicle's battery. The purpose of this wire is to provide a charge for an auxiliary or breakaway battery on the trailer. It will go to the 1 o'clock pin on the 7-way which you can see from the attached photo. It is not required nor needed for the 7-way to function if that is what you are after.
