Installation of Tail Light Adapter to Separate Stop Light Signal From Turn for European Conversion
Question:
Hi, I am based in the UK, our wiring on vehicles and trailers is slightly different to USA, we have seperate Turn and Brake lights, Im sure thats not a problem, but we then only have one brake light supply, do I then just join the Green/Yellow together and then to the brake lights cable? I hope its this simple as I want to order ASAP Thanks

Your UK trailer wiring is indeed different than the standard US system. If you want to use a converter like the Curt Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # C56196 to separate out the brake light signal from the turn signal. You will need to use a butt connector like # DW05744-5 to connect 2 wires to one end of the stop light output after the adapter for each separate pin. You will also add another wire like # 16-1-1 to the ground prior to the adapter to bypass this adapter just like the running/clearance light wire, 12V power, brake controller output and reverse wire. The UK connector will need to be obtained locally as we don't have that trailer connector available.
