There are two installation kits available for the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 series and 2500 series pickups. Both the 1500 and 2500 series trucks use the same kits. The difference between the kits is that the Universal installation kit, # RP30035, requires more drilling and takes more time to install. The Custom installation kit, # RP50064-58, does not require as much drilling and, consequently, installs in about 1/2 the time that it takes to install the Universal kit.
Either of these kits will work with your 15K Reese fifth-wheel hitch once properly installed. The Custom install kit does utilize U-Bolts for installation of the under bed brackets on the frame of both the 1500 and 2500 series trucks. I would personally choose the custom install kit over the universal kit to make installation quicker and easier.
I have linked instructions for both of these kits for you to review. We also have a video installation on a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 for you to review that should be very helpful, even though your truck is a 1500 series.
