The diameter of the threaded portion of an electric water heater element is normally 1-1/4 inches diameter. For your transition from a propane only unit to electric, I recommend the Hott Rod RV Water Heater Conversion Kit - Propane to Electric - 400 Watt - 6 Gallon # DGR6VP or the 10 Gallon # DGR10VP. These conversion kits provide the different coupler sizes to make the conversion possible. This will work with your Atwood water heater.
