How to Properly Setup the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System

Question:

How much range do you have on the 3inch spacing of the loose bars and the friction pad? I am trying to discern between the different adjustment points on this unit i.e. the ball height, the number of washers to use, the L-Bracket position and what of these different points of adjustment should be used to adjust what features i.e. front wheel well height, camper level, etc.

I am not sure I understand what you are asking. The frame brackets on the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System part # 66557 can be positioned between 25" - 32" back from center of coupler. This will then allow a minimum of 3" between the end of the friction pad and the end of the spring bar which will be needed to ensure that the spring bar does not fall out when turning.

If you take a look at the attached install instructions this will then give you all of the info that you need to determine bracket spacing, ball weight, head tilt etc. However, I cannot give you any exact figures or measurements as it will all vary by trailer. If you do not feel comfortable installing the system yourself then most local trailer dealers would be more than happy to do so for you as well but if you can think of any specific questions about the install process then please let me know and I will do my best to answer them.

Please note that the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System does not come with a hitch ball so if you do not already have one you will need part # 63845 for 2" or part # 63847 for 2-5/16".
