Attached is a picture of the typical wiring colors for the wiring on a vehicle-side 7-Way connector. This may differ from your 1997 Ford F-350 though for a few reasons.
The first is that vehicle manufacturers don't always follow this wiring configuration so it is very likely the OEM wiring is different. The other reason is that since your vehicle is older it is very possible that someone else has done surgery on the OEM wiring and they could have used whatever color wiring they had handy.
If you are looking to replace the 7-Way on your F-350 then you can simply use a circuit tester like part # PTW2979 to see what the functions are with your existing wires and then install the 7-Way Pre-Wired Car Connector # 20023 per function using the photo I referenced earlier.
