Snow Chains Recommendation for a 2010 GMC Sierra With 275/55-20 Tires

Question:

Which chains do you recommend for a 2010 GMC Sierra? Tire size is 275-55-20. The chains will be used sparingly so Im looking for the best product for the right budget. Are rubber adjusters needed?

My recommendation for limited use and the most economical snow chains for your 2010 GMC Sierra would be the Cable Snow Chains, # PW3029C. These chains are properly sized for wide base tires like your 275/55-20 tires and should be installed on the main drive wheels, in this case the rear. If your truck has 4 wheel drive then you could use another set on the front wheels, but it is not required.

Rubber Adjusters, # PW99, are recommended for use with the Cable snow chains. They will help keep the chains snug to the tires and help keep centrifugal force from slinging the cables away from the tire and possibly damaging the truck or your wheels. I would not use the cables without them.

I have attached an installation video and tire chains review that you may find helpful also.

The PW2028C chains that you referenced would be a tight fit on a wide base tire like the 275/55-20 size and may be a bit difficult to install.
