Recommended Sidewinder for Fabex 520 Pin Box and 5th Wheel Rail Kit for 2010 Ford F-150 with 5.5 Bed

Question:

I am towing a 25 foot Nomad 5th wheel 7500 lb dry weight with a 2010 F150 XLT with tow package. It has a 5.5 foot bed. I’ve been told I need a Sidewinder in order to tow this combination. The trailer has a Fabex 520 pin box. Which sidewinder pin box do I need to replace my current pin box ? Also, I’m looking for the part number of custom Reese brackets to install a Reese 30095N in bed rails ? Any help would be appreciated.

To replace your Fabex 520 pin box on your Nomad 5th wheel you will want the 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder and Turret - 16,000 lbs # RP61412. It will work well with your 2010 Ford F-150 with 5.5 foot bed.

For your base rails, you can use the Reese Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - Ford F-150 # RP58426 with the 30095N bed rails if you already have that kit, or it can be used with the similar universal rail kit # RP30035. My recommendation is to use a custom bracket rail kit and for that fit that doesn't require frame drilling the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50081-58. I've attached videos to assist.

You may also want to consider the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # 41157 to add a 7-way to the bed of your truck for easy connection access and a clean look.
