Can the Curt 4 Bike Rack 18030 be Used on a 2013 Toyota Prius V
Question:
I have a 2013 Prius V wagon. I understand that the car can only support 2 bikes on the back. I want to buy a Curt Class 1 1 1/4inch Trailer Hitch along with this bike rack. Can this be used with the Curt Class I 1-1/4 inch hitch so long as you only load 2 bikes? I am looking for a rack I can transfer between a car with a class I 1-1/4 inch hitch and a car with a class II hitch.

I do have options for you but the Curt 4 Bike Rack part # C18030 is not class I rated so even if you were to only carry two bikes I could not recommend you use this on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11276 for your 2013 Toyota Prius V. In order to use this bike rack you would need to install the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7192 which would also allow you to carry the maximum number of bikes for this bike rack so long as the weight of the bike rack and these bikes does not exceed the vehicle's capacity.
The only option you have if you did not want to use the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver is the Swagman Trailhead Bike Rack part # S63380 which is class I rated and can carry up to four bikes. I will however say that the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver is although less cost effective, retains a completely hidden design once installed.
I have attached review/install videos for you as well.
