Willd Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System Protect Both Motorhome and Towed Vehicle Wiring

Question:

Hello, My motorhome have combined tail/signal and my Z have it separate. There are 3 very small wires for the tail/brakes LEDS. My questions are: Does the Tow ready tail isolating Diode System TR118821 could protect both my towed car and my motorhomes electrical systems What happen if I start my car and turn on the front running light while its still connected to my RV? Will I need additional diodes for the front parks light? Thanks for your time and Happy new year!

Yes, the Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System # TR118821 does work to protect both the electrical on your motorhome and your 2013 Nissan 370z (that you input for your vehicle info). Since your motorhome has combined wiring and your 370z has separate (3-wire system) wiring this means that the brake lights on your 370z will function both as the brake and turn lights (when flat towing). If you would like to retain the separate wiring for when you are flat towing then you would also need to install the Converter # 118158 along with diodes # RM-792.

Since this kit uses a diode system if you were to turn on the front headlights of your 370z while at a rest stop then the lighting on your 370z would still function normally. Please note that you wouldn't have a reason to turn your headlights on while flat towing. This would just cause confusion for other people on the road as it would seem that your vehicle is tailgating you.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components just let me know and I can make some additional recommendations for you.

Happy New Year!
