Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK-350 Coupe

Question:

My 2006 CLK 350 is a two door Coupe not a convertible/cabriolet. I am not certain that the designated C11353 model will fit a coupe. I have read the available QandA which all pertains to the convertible models and I have studied the instructions in depth while in and under the car. There seem to be some significant differences between the instructions and the structure/layout of my car including: - my exhaust hanger is welded onto the bumper structure - it is not attached to the trunk floor via a weldnut, - there is no skid shield, just the exhaust heat shield, - the spare tire well and most of the trunk floor are made of a plastic composite rather than metal, - the illustration of the trunk landscape varies significantly from mine in that there is little or no room to the right of the spare tire well - there are other differences as well, - assuming that there is some metal structure to the sides of the plastic trunk floor that is intended as the attachment points, this metal structure cannot be accessed from inside the trunk without removing a significant portion of the plastic trim surrounding the trunk latch and trunk sides - this seems to be well beyond the effort indicated by the instructions. Can you please let me know with some certainty if this hitch model or other hitch model if any, might fit a 2006 Mercedes CLK 350 Coupe two door? Please let me know if you need pictures and I will capture some. The car is a US model. Thanks.

I would love to help but they do not make a trailer hitch for your 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK-350 coupe, just the convertible. I would also be skeptical that your vehicle is rated to tow a trailer. However, if you can tell me what you will be using the trailer hitch for I would be glad to see if we have any alternative options for you.

For example, if you need more space for cargo then you can install a roof rack like the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Crossbar System part # RRVA118B-2, part # RRRLKVA, part # DK309 and a cargo box like the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Box which holds18 cu ft # TRX34FR.

If you need to carry a bike you can use a trunk mount bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Expedition Carrier part # HRF6-2.
