Curt Gooseneck Ball for Chevy Puck System Compatibility with Demco Recon Gooseneck 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I just bought a 2019 Chevy 3500hd high country dually with the puck system, and I’m looking to purchase the Curt 60692 gooseneck kit along with the Demco 8550045 fifth wheel hitch as suggested by my other post. My question is, what keeps the fifth wheel hitch from trying to rotate in the bed since the only mounting point is the gooseneck ball?

For your 2019 Chevy 3500, the factory puck system will allow the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit # C60692 along with the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045 to work well with your truck.
The Curt gooseneck ball has a metal lever on the top and side that allow the connection of the integrated ball-bearing system to secure the hitch ball. The lever will not be an issue for the Demco 5th wheel hitch to be compatible. This is a good question as other adapters like the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G are not recommended to be used with the factory puck systems because of the way the hitch ball attaches.
I've attached videos of each installation to assist.
