Location of Fifth Wheel Rails in the Bed of 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 Short Bed
Question:
I am installing 5th wheel rails in my 2003 Silverado 1500 short bed. I can not find what the distance from the back of the bed to the back of the first front rail should be? Is there a chance you can possibly tell me?

If you were to be installing a set of Reese universal fifth wheel rails like what comes with the Reese kit part # RP30035 in your 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 short bed the distance you are looking for is 25-1/8 inches.
Once the rear rail is placed you'd use your fifth wheel hitches feet to place the front rail.
