Can Trailer Taillights that are Incandescent be Replaced Easily with LED

Question:

I was thinking of converting my 7x7x16 enclosed trailer lights to LED to help reduce power draw on my 2002 F150. I was curious if it would be easy as just swapping all bulbs out or if it would require more complicated replacements of the whole units. This is my first trailer so I have little experience with the lighting. When it is hooked up now I get functional lights on the back of the trailer at the main lights but only a few of the side/clearance lights illuminate. Since I may have to change those anyway I thought moving to LED would help my older vehicle power them all.

If the bulbs of your trailer lights are replaceable and there's an LED replacement for that style available it would be just a matter of swapping the bulbs out like you mentioned. Since typically trailer lights have bulbs that aren't as easily replaceable you may have to swap out the entire assembly with a similar LED setup. You are absolutely right though when you mentioned that the LED lights will draw considerable less. Typically they only draw a fraction of an amp which is quite a bit less than incandescent bulbs.

I attached a link to a page that has all of the LED trailer lights we offer for you to check out as well.
